Sutton Coldfield tv mast

you can hardly see the ever green bushy tree on the horizon and almost dead centre a leafless tree

the next picture was taken through the 10 x 50 Bresser binoculars from LIDL resting on my kitchen window sill and using the Sony cell phone camera - and you can see the Sutton Coldfield tv mast

the focus is on the nearest house but OK for a first try

comment from Armagh Planetarium

The Armagh Observatory is a modern astronomical research institute with a rich heritage. Founded in 1790 by Archbishop Richard Robinson, the Observatory is one of the UK and Ireland's leading scientific research establishments.

Around 25 astronomers are actively studying Stellar Astrophysics, the Sun, Solar System astronomy, and the Earth's climate.

I searched for my own 2003 BLOGS about the tv mast

International Civic Heraldry site

DENMARK - KØBENHAVN COPENHAGEN:

"The arms are based on the oldest seal of the city, known since 1254.The original seal showed a city wall with towers, which gradually was transformed in the three towers.

The present arms were officially granted in 1661 by King Frederik III, whose monogram is seen on the middle tower. In addition to the shield itself, the arms showed three helmets, two lions as supporters and many other symbols around the shield "

Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 1750

the 10 wheel tractor is ready to push
the third of 162 tons on two trailers to the crane

the crane has been turned ready for the third lift

and the transport wagons are lined up for the tear down and move back to Germany

another LR 1750 is for sale
about 21 million Danish kroner
€ 2.850.000,--net ex location NRW, Germany

LR 1750: "The crawler crane LR 1750 is perfectly suited for applications in power stations, refineries, bridge construction sites and the assembly of wind power plants.

The 750-t machine can be universally applied due to its 140 m main boom, 105 m luffing fly-jib, 21 m assembly jib and derrick attachment, as well as 400 t suspended counterweight or ballast trailer.

Compact dimensions of the crane components and moderate individual weights allow a highly economic transport of the crane to the building site.

The 750 ton crane can also be operated as a 'Pedestal Crane' with outrigger supports, featuring a support base of 13 x 13 m. Lifting capacities can thus be increased by up to 370%."

Hello Hugh,

I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but the owner of highracer blogger that you've linked to is a relentless spammer. What you do with the link to his site is up to you, of course, but I wanted to fill you in. I'd be happy to provide evidence of this if you'd like.

from 1810

I walked down Fiolstræde to the corner of Krystalgade in Copenhagen

(AKA Skidenstræde)

rebuilt in 1734 after the 1728 fire the timber frame bindingsværk should have been covered by brickwork but was not.

In these streets designed for pedestrians and horses the corners were rounded or angled to enable the carters to see opposing traffic and avoid collisions.

these elegant cast iron columns of the university library from 1855-1861 used to house Humanoria and the newspaper archive. The architect J. D. Herholdt was inspired by a church in Verona
